I chose Ross Bagley to act as Travis Younger. I remember watching Ross Bagley in the Little Rascals and as the youngest son of Uncle Phil in the Fresh Prince of Bel-air. Travis Younger doesn't really have a strong presence in the story until the end when Mama told him to stay when Mr.Lindner came over to the house the second time and his father said that they'll keep the house in the white neighborhood. In the beginning of the play they said that Travis was, "a sturdy, handsome little boy of ten or eleven..." I wanted an adorable actor that fits the description to play that role.
Pg.1041 Physical description- “the child, a sturdy, handsome little boy of ten or eleven...”
Personality- He’s very loving and caring towards his family. His family is tight on money in the beginning of the play, but is willing to work to get the things that he wants.
Pg.1042- insists twice and asks his mom, “Mama, could I please go carry groceries?” (Asks her that so he can earn some money to give to his teacher in school)
Pg.1063 (Walter asks his son what he wants to be when he grows up) "A bus driver." (Travis looks up to his dad and wants to be like him.)
Pg.1068 (A gift he gives to his grandma) "It's a gardening hat! Like the ladies always have on in the magazine when they work in their gardens.
